Carved into the Tsitsikamma hills above the Garden Route, Tamodi is an estate built around two quiet convictions: that stillness is a luxury, and that the horse is its finest companion. The polo reserve sets the rhythm of the place — ponies training at first light, the unhurried movement through stables at dusk, the particular discipline of an equestrian life lived close to the land. The architecture follows suit: warm, eclectic interiors in natural materials, high ceilings, exposed timber beams, handcrafted stone baths and indoor-outdoor showers that dissolve the line between room and hillside. Every suite frames the valley. Beyond the doors, the main lodge offers a reading room, Library Bar, wine cellar and an infinity pool with views to the Tsitsikamma Mountains.
Seven suites range from the relaxed standard rooms off the main lodge to the detached nature cottage — fully private, uninterrupted views — and the premiere plunge pool suite, where open-plan living, a private pool and the sweep from mountains to ocean coexist without effort. Nature trails, horseback riding, private wine tastings, and evenings gathered on the Bird Deck round out the days. The Garden Route begins at the gate.
