Local heroes: Hermanas Arce in Madrid

As part of our Local Heroes series, we are sending love and support to all of those small shops, coffee places, and restaurants that are part of our day to day in our own cities. Those little places in our neighborhoods where you get to know the owner, where they know how you take your coffee or your favorite dish from the menu, those places where days are brighter if you visit and you always leave with a smile.

WHY WE LOVE IT

Located in the charming Justicia neighborhood Hermanas Arce is the project of sisters Elena and Ana, serving delicious pastries, natural food, and artisan coffee. On the menu you’ll find simple but wholesome dishes: don’t miss the tortitas (pancakes), the avocado toast with chimichurri, and the salted chocolate cookie for the perfect ending. The sunlit cafe is the perfect space to bring a book or your laptop if you have to work - you’ll feel at home.
