Japan has been a lifelong dream trip of mine ever since I was very little. I stumbled upon old photos of my parents first trip there which was a VERY long time ago, So long ago, that NYC didn't even have a single sushi restaurant yet (hard to believe or image NYC without a sushi spot at every corner) A few years ago, that dream had become a reality and from then onward has been one of the most inspiring and fascinating places that I keep going back to and never wanting to leave. Luckily there are direct flights from Milan - Tokyo :)
Koufonisia island is where the story unfolds. Back in 1990, Anita fell in love with the island while being in her hometown Athens. Fast forward to 2018 and Eros Keros opened its doors to conscious travelers. The ones who appreciate discrete luxury, those who love being away for everyone and everything.
Perched on the hillside of Azenhas do Mar, just 45 minutes away from Lisbon, Outpost Casa das Arribas is comprised of 6 different holiday homes. Having spent many summers in Lisbon, we have to say this was the perfect weekend getaway: a truly remote outpost, away from everyone and everything, standing there seemingly isolated on the cliff.
P‘tit Habibi is an unique riad at the north end of the Marrakech Medina. The house, with only 5 rooms, fuses traditional artisan craft with modern design. A home away from home, P’tit Habibi is the perfect place to spend a long weekend.
Trancoso, in Brazil’s coastal state of Bahia, is unspoiled, unassuming, and effortlessly charming. The dirt roads from Porto Seguro airport will lead you to this natural paradise that for years has been inhabited only by fisherman and hippies. Its appeal, which has been kept very much under wraps, has drawn in the in-the-know jetsetters and celebrities that seek a break from the spoiled beaches of Tulum and Ibiza. But Trancoso’s best kept secret? Tropical oasis, Casa de Perainda
Nestled in a charming 18th century building in Alfama, Santa Clara 1728 is one of the most spectacular places we’ve ever been to. Charmed by the beauty of the place, we found in Santa Clara a second home.
Located in the heart of Florence, hidden in the 500+ year old Palazzo Galli Tassi is Numeroventi, an artist residency, coworking and exhibition space - “a peaceful retreat from the velocity of modern day life”.
In this day and age, it’s no secret that visual appeal can make or break even the most luxurious property. So it’s an incredible treat when you come across a hotel that offers extraordinary service, fascinating history, and a breathtaking dose of design the way Jaipur’s Sujan Rajmahal Palace does.
Providencia is one of these idyllic little islands that can offer more than just beautiful sea and sand. Hidden in the east coast of the island you will find Monasterio del Viento, a place where life feels pure and unrushed.
The American Trade Hotel in Panama’s Casco Viejo could easily be the most Instagrammed place in the city. I’ve long suspected that people travel here just to stay at the ATH and snap a pic in their beautiful lobby. But it’s much more than a pretty building with iconic blue-patterned cement tile floors (#ihavethisthingwithfloors anyone?). No, the American Trade Hotel is a place steeped in history.
Located in one of my favorite neighborhoods in Barcelona - L’Eixample , the hotel is near one of the Passeig de Gracia corners. Passeig de Gracia is a well known street, where two of Gaudi’s iconic builidings...
To me, nothing is more refreshing than finding a hidden gem that takes a trip to the next level. There are small things that take a holiday from good to perfect. And perfect it was….my experience at Thirty Seven Hotel in Gozo, Malta.
