24h in Florence

Last week, I flew from Barcelona to Florence for a meeting. It was quick so I was fortunate to have the time to explore Florence on the afternoon. The Tuscan capital is full of art and history, nice people... like every city in Italy, you'd wish you had space to eat every dish and drink every glass of wine.

Lunch

The man I met during my meeting in the morning recommended this place. I already had a list of places I wanted to go but as always, you should trust the local! Trattoria 13 Gobbi was amazing. I had a Spaghetti al Pomodoro (my favorite) and eggplant à la parmigiana. The eggplant was GREAT.

Strolling & Shopping

Because I didn't have a lot of time, I stayed in the city center. A walk along the river is always beautiful. One place I LOVED was Libreria Brac, where I had the most delicious flourless chocolate cake. On the way, stop at Aquazzura, the designer's original store for beautiful shoes and interior inspiration. Have a gelato. Drink some wine. Sit at a plazza all day and watch the people walk by...

Dinner

Il Cibrèo is a traditional trattoria, founded in 1979 by chef Fabio Picchi, who chose this name in full harmony with its family tradition and with a real passion for the alchemy of the Florentine cuisine. The mood is chill and the crowd consists of Italian families. The waiter was incredibly nice to me...somehow I got a free desert! Before the tasty desert came, I had a tomato soup which was unique in flavour and texture. and some chicken-ricotta meatballs.
