California Roadtrip: Chapter 2 – Carmel by the Sea

Go to first stop - Los Angeles

Our next stop was Carmel by The Sea.  Saying it’s a charming place wouldn’t do it justice, as it is a quaint, exquisitely crafted town wrapped in cold beach air.  Being also the romantic little getaway that it is, it has many small restaurants, galleries, shops and candy stores.  Most houses look like they’ve come directly off a Grimm brother fairy tale and the seagull- transited cobble pathways tag along towards the generous stretch of beach that makes Carmel what it is.

Briarwood Inn is a perfect choice for a simple/controlled-budget stay. All rooms are separate cottages and are the cutest.  Hotel Carmel is also a great option.

Lafayette Bakery, Casanova Restaurant and Fudge Shop for sweets!

Beach picnic, Bret Studios Fine Art Gallery (and general gallery hopping), Wine tasting.

Paloosh, The Hat shop, Carmel Plaza (Bottega Veneta, Anthropologie, etc).

Next stop...Yosemite National Park
