California Roadtrip: Chapter 4 – Napa Valley

1st stop - Los Angeles , 2nd stop - Carmel by the Sea, 3rd stop - Yosemite National Park

I was looking forward to Napa Valley so much. Partly because Alejandro kept talking about it and partly because I’ve always had a certain fascination for vineyards due to my agriculture-oriented family and my life in Italy.  And yes, also because drinking wine from 10am under intense sunlight is pretty much a perfect scenario. Very us two, too. So us, that the green and the sun and the grapes and the wine and the laughs will be forever kept in our hearts as they’re all part of the day we got engaged! YES, WE DID!!!

Go to V.Sattui for a quick, napa-style lunch and check out The Charter Oak and Basalt Restaurant for a riverside dinner.

My suggestion is to make an itinerary that includes great wine-tastings but also tours (at least self-guided) of vineyards to get insights on the process. Also try and mix the larger, commercial wineries with with a couple of more boutique or luxury ones to really embrace the Napa experience.  We did Mum’s for early morning Mimosas, Robert Mondavi, Annomaly and Clos du Val.

Next (and last) stop...San Francisco
